5,364 hours.

That’s how many hours we had to wait from the end of one football season to the start of another. But this one was going to be one to remember. Since we began at NCAA.com, we’ve all been looking forward to the start of the college football season.

Thursday, everyone was buzzing, excited, and ready for the games to get underway. While we only had a few ranked games to cover, it was still such an exciting atmosphere. Around 8pm, we made our way downstairs to the Operations Center, which is where half of the NCAA.com team was based, monitoring the website and the GameCenters. Turner even had a delicious cake waiting for us to wish us good luck on the upcoming academic year.

It was a busy night, but we made it out of the office by 1:30am, tired, but still loving every minute of our first night of college football. On Saturday, I had definitely done a lot of trash-talking for the Temple-Notre Dame season opener, and while the Owls lost, it was awesome to watch the game–and many more after it–and call it “work.”

It’s going to be an incredibly exciting college football season and I cannot wait!
